Time needs to slow way, way down.
I remember Madison’s first day of Pre-K like it was yesterday. She was jumping around, very excited (mainly for her new pencil box – and I had to repeatedly tell her to stop jumping so much, as we lived on a 2nd floor apartment at the time and I didn’t want to wake the downstairs neighbors). I remember how I teared up dropping her off and thinking about how far away her senior year of high school was from that day.
Looking at these pictures, it’s really not that far away at all now.
Zachary started Pre-K today as well. And I got teary eyed all over again.
(We asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, and why – those answers are all his own.)
I remember when I was a kid, summers last forever, and it took what felt like years to get from the first day of school to Christmas Eve. Now, you blink, and you’re throwing away Easter candy as you hurriedly wrap Christmas gifts; you take a deep breath to relax yourself just a little – and it’s time to plan for summer vacations and birthday parties.
Not too long ago I had two little ones…
And now I have two big ones.
Please slow down. Just a little bit.
Regular blogging to resume later this week. Because you all want to know about my newly fractured left foot, don’t you?
